Teresa Mary Palmer is an Australian actress and model who made her acting debut with the Australian film, 2:37 directed by Murali K. Thalluri. After working in Australia, Palmer eventually moved to America to pursue a career in Hollywood. She started her career with Jumper, a sci-fi movie directed by Doug Liman, co-starring Tom Sturridge. The actress is known to feature in horror and thriller movies including The Grudge 2, Kill Me Three Times, Cut Bank, and Lights Out. Apart from her acting Palmer is extremely passionate about Football and is an ardent fan of Port Adelaide Football Club. She has been the co-number one ticket holder for the club since 2009.

Early Life
Teresa Palmer was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia and she was named after the legendary missionary and philanthropist, Mother Teresa. Her father Kevin Palmer is an investor and her mother, Paula Sanders was a nurse. Her parents divorced in 1989 when she was just three years old and Palmer grew up on her father`s farm in the Adelaide Hills with her stepmother, Karen Palmer, two half-sisters and two step-brothers.

The actress studied at a private Catholic day school named Mercedes College. Her first acting job was dressing up as a Strawberry Shortcake for weekends promotions at the shopping centers in Adelaide. She also worked as an attendant at a fast food joint at Hungry Jack`s in Rundle Mall and later worked at a clothing retailer store named Cotton On in Australia. Before Palmer began her career in films, she went to acting classes for two years and appeared in television commercials.

Personal Life
Palmer dated former Australian Rules football player, Stuard Dew and later during the mid-2007, she dated her Take Me Home Tonight, co-star, Topher Grace but within a couple of months, the duo separated before eventually reuniting in 2009. In 2012, the actress started dating actor and director, Mark Webber after the two exchanged tweets. The two got engaged in August 2013 and later got married on 21st December 2013 in Mexico. The couple bears a son named Bodhi Rain and the actress is a step mother to Webber`s son, Issac from his previous marriage to actress, Frankie Shaw.

Movie Career
Teresa Palmer began her acting career by appearing as an extra in Deck Dogz and other Australian films that were shot in Adelaide. Her first major role was in Murali K. Thalluri`s 2:37, an independent Australian film 2:37 where she played the role of a popular high school student who tries to commit suicide after being impregnated by her brother. The movie got a positive critical response and for her stellar performance in the movie, she won a nomination for Best Lead Actress at the 2006 Australian Film Institute Award. The movie was also screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival and it was received with a standing ovation. Post her 2:37 success, she signed with a talent agency in Sydney and appeared in the 2005 movie, Wolf Creek directed by Greg McLean. In the same year, she appeared in the Psychological thriller, Restrain alongside Stephen Moyer and Travis Fimmel. The movie written by Dave Warner and directed by Davin Denneen was shot around New South Wales.

Palmer`s next release was December Boys, a coming-of-age film based on a novel by Micheal Noonman, set in 1960. For the movie, the actress studied Dominique Swain`s performance in Lolita to understand overt sexuality. The movie opened to mixed reviews and was a commercial failure. In 2006, the actress signed with the William Morris Agency and ventured into acting in Hollywood films. She made her Hollywood feature film debut with the horror-thriller, The Grudge 2, which was the sequel to the 2004 movie of the same name starring Amber Tamblyn and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The movie received negative reviews but it was commercially hit, grossing over 70 Million USD worldwide.

In 2011, the actress starred in the sci-fi adventure film, I Am Number Four, co-starring Dianna Agron and Alex Pettyfer. She essayed the role of Number Six, one of the nine aliens who are hiding out on Earth. For her role in the movie, the actress underwent intense stunt training, she learned sword fight, riding the motorcycle and do wirework. The movie got negative reviews but it grossed over $149 worldwide. In the same year, the actress starred in a short film, Bear. The film directed by Nash Edgerton competed at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

The following year in 2012, she appeared in an independent Australian drama-thriller, Wish You Were Here. The film directed by Kieran Darcy-Smith and featuring Joel Edgerton was premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and it got positive critical reviews. In 2013, the actress starred in a Zombie film, Warm Bodies, which was based on a young adult novel by Issac Marion. The movie saw Palmer playing the role of a young girl, Julie who falls in love with a zombie played by Nicholas Hoult. It opened to great positive reviews and grossed over $116 Million, worldwide. In the same year, the actress starred in Love and Honor, a movie set in the 1960`s during the Vietnam war. The movie, which also featured Liam Hemsworth was a critical and commercial failure.

Teresa Palmer had quite a disappointing year in 2015 as all her films failed at the box-office. Her first release of the year was Terrence Malick`s Knight of Cups starring Christian Bale. The movie got negative to mixed reviews. Her other movie in the same year, the remake of Point Break was panned by the critics. The actress did not have any luck in the early part of 2016 as both her movies, The Choice and Triple 9 were flops. Her other movie of the year was the horror film, Light Out, which got mixed reviews and her role as Rebecca, the protective sister was much appreciated by the critics. Her other releases of the year include 2:22 opposite Michiel Huisman and Sam Reid. Her other projects include Berlin Syndrome (2017), The Place of No Words (2019) and Ride Like A Girl (2019).
