Austin Stowell is an American actor best known for his role in the movies
Dolphin Tale (2011) and its sequel
Dolphin Tale 2 (2014), and the Academy Award winning movies

Bridge of Spies (2015). He has also appeared on the TV shows Secret Life of The American Teenager (2009) and 90210 (2010)
Early Life Stowell was born to Robert, a retired steelworker, and Elizabeth, a schoolteacher, and is the youngest of his siblings: he has two elder brothers. Stowell graduated in 2003 from the Berlin High School and then studied at the University of Connecticut where he pursued a degree in Fine Arts. While studying at the university he also performed with the Connecticut Repertory Theatre in plays such as Julius Caesar and As You Like It and graduated in 2007.
Personal Life In July 2015, Stowell started dating actress
Nina Dobrev. However, the couple split in the following year - in February 2017.
Television Career Stowell began his acting career in 2009 with the TV show Secret Girlfriend. He appeared in the episode titled "You Get An Aquarium". In the same year, he was seen in a recurring role in the TV series Secret Life of The American Teenager. Essaying the role of Jesse, Stowell appeared in the TV show for 15 episodes. In the next few years, he appeared in guest roles in the TV shows NCIS: Los Angeles (2010) and 90210 (2010). In 2015, he starred in a substantial role in the TV series Public Morals wherein he essayed the role of Officer Sean O`Bannon.
Movie Career Stowell made his feature debut in 2011 with
Charles Martin Smith`s family drama
Dolphin Tale. He essayed the role of Kyle Connellan who is a state swimming champion. In the next few years he appeared in movies such as With a Mom (2012), Love and Honor (2013), and Warren (2013). In 2014, he essayed the character of Ryan Connolly in the Academy Award winning movie
Whiplash. In the same year, he reprised his role as Kyle Connellan in
Dolphin Tale 2, a sequel to the 2011 movie Dolphin Tale.
In 2015, Stowell was seen in
Steven Spielberg`s historical thriller
Bridge of Spies. The movie, based on a true incident that occurred during the Cold War, tells the story of lawyer James B. Donovan who is given the responsibility to negotiate the release of Francis Gary Powers, a U-2 pilot whose plane was shot down by the Soviet Union, in exchange of Rudolph Abel, a convicted KGB spy held in custody the USA. Stowell essayed the role of Francis Gay Powers, while
Tom Hanks and
Mark Rylance essayed the roles of Donovan and Abel respectively. His 2017 release includes the movie
