Damini
About the movie
It is the story of Damini (Meenakshi Sheshadri) and her struggle to bring justice to her maid servant who is raped by her brother-in-law. Damini is married to Shekhar Gupta (Rishi Kapoor) and one day she witnesses her brother-in-law, Rakesh (Ashwin Kaushal), raping their maid servant. She rushes to call Shekhar, but its too late.
The family decides to hide the matter from the police to save their reputation, however, Damini goes and complains to the police.
In the court she testifies against Rakesh. But she is portrayed as a mentally unstable person and confined to a mental institution. She escapes the torture and comes across an alcoholic lawyer, Govind (Sunny Deol). He re-opens the case and the rest is how he, Damini and Shekhar bring justice to the maid servant, who dies in the hospital.
