Mera Naam Joker (1970)
About the movie
In Mera Naam Joker (1970), Raj Kapoor delivers one of the most moving performances of his career as Raju, a clown who makes others laugh while concealing his own sorrows. Raju`s journey, divided into three distinct chapters of his life, reflects the universal struggles of human emotions-first love, heartbreak, and the pursuit of meaning amidst adversity. The film`s structure, with its episodic storytelling, is unique. Each chapter, marked by Raju`s encounters with different women who shape his life, mirrors the stages of emotional growth and maturity. The film is a reflection of Kapoor`s own artistic journey, making it an emotional and introspective masterpiece.
