Early Life
Arunoday Singh was born in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh on 17 February 1983. He was raised by his Rajput family in the village of Mendora, Madhya Pradesh, a village near Bhopal, where they own a dairy farm. Arunoday's grandfather Arjun Singh was a politician, best remembered as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at the time of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy.

Arunoday studied at Kodaikanal Boarding School and then attended the Brandeis University, Massachusetts, USA. When he was around nine years old, his English teacher screened the film On the Waterfront (1954) for her students and Arunoday was extremely inspired by Marlon Brando's performance. He began acting in school plays and then enrolled in the New York Film Academy and the Acting Studio in New York, USA. He simultaneously acted in numerous plays in New York before returning to India to pursue a career in Bollywood.

Movie Career
In 2009, Arunoday Singh made his debut with Sikander, playing the role of a Kashmiri freedom fighter. He was then seen in the Sonam Kapoor-starrer Aisha (2010), a rom-com based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel Emma. The actor's next movie was Vinay Shukla's Mirch (2010), a drama film about gender equality and women's sexuality that were showcased through four stories within the film. The year 2011 was a notable one for Arunoday. He acted in Sudhir Mishra's romantic thriller Yeh Saali Zindagi, alongside Irrfan Khan, Chitrangada Singh, and Aditi Rao Hydari, and was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Screen Awards.

He then essayed the role of an intelligence officer in the erotic thriller Jism 2 (2012), starring Bollywood débutante Sunny Leone. The movie went on to earn around 35 crore INR and Arunoday went on to act in the 2014 romantic action comedy Main Tera Hero, where he plays a corrupt policeman. After portraying the role of a ghost in the supernatural thriller Pizza (2014), Arunoday featured in two Emraan Hashmi movies- Ungli (2014) and Mr. X (2015), neither of which did much to further his career. In 2016, the actor starred in the controversial autobiographical film Buddha in a Traffic Jam, which is based on the life of Bollywood film director Vivek Agnihotri, who also directed this film. The movie touches upon issues like moral policing, college politics, and corruption. His other 2016 release is Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro, periodic adventure romance, starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde.
