About the movie
Guru is a 2007 Indian biographical film loosely based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani, a business magnate who founded Reliance Industries. Gurukant Desai, raised in a village all his life, comes to Bombay in 1958 to procure employment. His one motive is to earn respect for himself from his father who considers a disappointment. How he works his way up to become India`s largest business tycoon forms the crux of the film.
