Verdict: It`s a Statham movie; enough said. Jason Statham was made for one thing only - action. He has proved himself to be brilliant in the genre through several of his movies like The Transporter series, Death Race, Snatch, The Mechanic, The Expendables, Hummingbird, Wild Card, Crank, and so many more. With every upcoming []... ...Read full review
Move over, Jackie Chan. Head to the back of the class, Matt Damon`s - now, honestly very yawn-inducing - Jason Bourne. Sylvester Stallone and Arnie, you are both legends and you both finally have a worthy successor. Pure action films, in this case revenge-action as a sub-genre, as this kind of movie is meant to be straightforward and to be digested by anyone whether they are ten years old or 50. Jason Statham is now the DUDE of unabashed, no-holds-barred action films. Despite the staid title like `mechanic` and a plot line that is as simple as can be, Statham pulls punches - literally - like we haven`t seen in any action film this year. Okay, to be fair, at least not yet. ...Read full review
Every other year, ageing but lithe, action hero Jason Statham gets a chance at resurrecting his career from the doldrums of unremarkable action genre ennui. This film under review `Mechanic: Resurrection` is a follow-up to the 2011 `Mechanic` which in turn was inspired by a Charles Bronson Thriller from the early 70`s. Given that round-about history, there`s obviously little here that could be classified as unique or interesting. Yes, Statham has his trademark action moments unfortunately they are no longer surprising! ...Read full review
There`s something satisfying about watching Jason Statham do his thing. He brings raw energy to his action scenes, be it him going on a shooting rampage or some crazy hand-to-hand combatting. He`s also a master in turning the every day ordinary object into a weapon - much like Jackie Chan but without the forced comedy and with a lot more grit. ...Read full review
Jason Statham is in a bit of a rut. Hes developed an image of a martial arts inspired killer who can drive around like James Bond and shoot folks like John Rambo. Whether its the Transporter universe, Expendables universe or any other action movie, when he shows up on screen, the content gets very familiar. Mechanic Resurrection is a sequel of a 2011 actioner where Statham played a killer for hire who bumps off people making the murders look like accidents. At least the concept was fresh five years ago. The new movie follows the same pattern, adding to the listless feeling of monotony. This film is exactly like any other Jason Statham movie you may have seen before. ...Read full review
