About the movie
Visaaranai is a hard-hitting tale based on a real life incident, about how the system treats a poor man as against one who has wealth. The story deals with an innocent person being charged with a crime and the tedious process that he is subjected to afterwards. The movie story is based on a book titled `Lock Up` written by an auto driver named Chandrakumar, which deals with the brutality of police investigations in India.
