Amit Prasher is an Indian director, who primarily works in the Punjabi film industry. He made his debut in the year 2013 with the movie
Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 starring
Yo Yo Honey Singh and
Amrinder Gill.
Early Life
Amit completed his graduation from the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 2000 with a degree in B.Com. He later earned his Post Graduate Diploma in Commercial Arts from the Apeejay College from Jalandhar in 2003. The following year, Amit also completed a six-month diploma course in Film Making and Direction from the Digital Academy in Mumbai.
Theater Career
Before venturing into films, Amit began his career as a theater actor and director. In 2002, after completing his graduation, Amit represented Punjab in Theater as an actor, One-Act Play in the National Youth Festival held at Hisar. A couple of years later he represented Punjab at the same festival, only this time as a director. Apart from performing in theaters, Amit directed and performed at various Street Plays for social causes across North India.
Movie Career
After several successful stints with Music Waves Productions Pvt. Ltd., Annu Kapoor Films, and Shamseer Communications Pvt. Ltd as a Director/Assistant Director, Amit worked as an Assistant Director for the Punjabi movie
Dharti starring
Jimmy Shergill and
Rannvijay Singha. He next assisted director
Navaniat Singh in the 2012 movie
Taur Mittran Di, which stars
Amrinder Gill,
Surveen Chawla,
Rannvijay Singha,
Mukesh Rishi, and
Amita Pathak.
In the following year, Amit made his feature film directorial debut with the
Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22. The Punjabi comedy starring
Yo Yo Honey Singh and
Amrinder Gill was declared as a semi hit at the box office. The online portal Ballewood.in gave the movie 4 out of 5 stars quoting:

Mandy Takhar, and
Binnu Dhillon. However, unlike his previous movies,
Munde Kamaal De failed to impress the audience and was a box office failure. His 2018 release includes
Jagga Jiunda E.
