Dwayne Johnson is a Canadian-American actor, producer and a professional athlete, who first established himself as a mainstream third-generation wrestler at the World Wrestling Federation before attaining fame in the film industry.

EARLY LIFE
Dwayne Johnson was born in California and hails from a family of professional wrestlers. His father, Rocky Johnson, was a Canadian-born wrestler, and his maternal grandfather, Peter Maivia, also was a professional wrestler. His cousin, Savelina Fanene, is a wrestler and works for WWE. Dwayne Johnson went to Richmond Road Primary School during his brief stay with his mother Ata Johnson`s family in Auckland, New Zealand. He studied at the Freedom High School in Pennsylvania and started playing football for the University of Miami, through which he won a national championship with the 1991 Miami Hurricanes football team.

Due to a back injury, Johnson could not earn a spot in the NFL. With dwindling opportunities in the football arena, he shifted his attention to wrestling with a debut in WWF against Brooklyn Brawler in Texas. He was signed by WWF under the name Flex Klavana, after he was part of a tag team victory with Bart Sawyer. He joined The Nation of domination, a professional wrestling stable in WWF, and started calling himself as The Rock. He lived up to his name as The People`s Champ` by winning the WWF / E championship eight times, the WWF Tag Team championships five times, Intercontinental Championship two times, and more. Post-1999, Johnson diverted his attention to Hollywood. He was still very active on the WWE arena till 2004, after which his appearances were few and far between.

PERSONAL LIFE
Dwayne Johnson got married to Dany Garcia in 1997, and the two have a daughter named Simone Alexandra. After a decade-long relationship, they split amicably in 2007. Johnson proved that he is more than just an action hero, by trying his hand with comedy roles in movies like Be Cool (2005), The Game Plan, a 2007 flick alongside John Travolta and Uma Thurman, and Tooth Fairy (2010). For his performance in The Game Plan, he was nominated in the Favorite Movie Actor Award category at the 2008 Nickelodeon Kid`s Choice Awards.
