Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is a popular Indian film actor and producer who mainly works in Telugu cinema. Although the actor comes from a very influential family in films and politics, Nandamuri has managed to establish his own identity in the Telugu cinema industry and has played lead roles several films like Athanokkade (2005), Hare Ram (2008) and Pataas (2008). Apart from acting, Nandamuri produces films under the N.T.R. Arts banner.

Early Life
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is the son of former actor and politician, Nandamuri Harikrishna and Lakshmi. He is the grandson of the legendary Telugu cine actor and statesman, N.T. Rama Rao and the popular actor Jr. NTR is his elder brother.

Personal Life
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram married Swathi in August 2006 and the couple has two children; a daughter named Taraka Advitha and son named Sourya Ram.

Movie Career
As an Actor
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram made his foray in the film industry at a very young age; he made his debut as a child artist in the 1989 Telugu film Bala Gopaludu. The film directed by Kodi Ramakrishna featured Nandamuri Balakrishna, Suhasini Maniratnam and Rao Gopal Rao in the lead roles. Four years later, in 2003, the actor made his debut as a lead actor in the Telugu film Abhimanyu, which was a remake of the Kannada film, Abhi.

With no release to his name in 2004, the actor starred in the hit film Athanokkade, a Telugu film directed by Surender Reddy. The film, which received appreciation from the critics for its brilliant screenplay and thrilling pace was remade in Tamil as Aadhi and in Kannada as Lakshmana and was dubbed in Hindi as International Don. The actor had a forgettable year in 2007 as he starred in the Tollywood action drama film, Lakshmi Kalyanam directed by Teja. The film, which marked the debut of Kajal Aggarwal in the Telugu film industry was declared a box office flop and was one of biggest disasters of the year. The film was later dubbed in Tamil as Machakaalai and in Hindi as Meri Saugandh. In the same year, he appeared in the Vijayadasami, a Telugu remake of the Tamil film titled Sivakasi. The film featuring Vedhika Pooja Kumar as the female lead had a very low-key release and it earned mostly negative reviews. A critic from stated, "the film turned up dull on a whole."

In 2008, director Harshavardhan cast Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the Telugu movie, Hare Ram alongside Priyamani, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raghu Babu and Brahmanandam. The film where Nandamuri played a double role for the first time in his career was directed under the N.T.R Arts banner and it was declared as a hit at the box office. The following year, in his solitary release of the year, the actor starred in the Telugu film Jayeebhava, which was directed by Naren Kondapati. The film co-starring Hansika Motwani, and Mukesh Rishi was a commercial and critical failure. The actor continued to have a bad run at the box office in 2010 as his only release of the year Kalyan Ram Kathi, a Telugu action-drama film which was written and directed by Mallikharjun and featuring Sana Khan and Saranya Mohan in pivotal roles bombed at the box office.

After back-to-back failures, the actor took a break from acting from acting for two years and made his comeback in 2013 but success eluded him. Om 3D, which garnered much attention before its release for being India`s first 3D Action film ultimately bombed at the box office. Two years later in 2015, the actor starred in two films, viz. Pataas and Sher. Whilst Pataas directed by Anil Ravipudi and co-starring Shruti Sodhi turned out to be a blockbuster, his other movie, Sher did not perform well. In his first film of the year in 2016, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram starred in the Telugu action film, Ism directed by Puri Jagannadh. His 2019 project includes 118. His 2020 release includes Entha Manchivaadavuraa.

As a Producer
The actor has produced several movies, which he has acted in under the N.T.R Arts Production Company including Athanokkade (2005), Hare Ram (2008), Jayeebhava (2009), Kalyanram Kathi (2010), Om 3D (2013), Pataas (2015) and Ism (2016). Some of the other movies that he had produced include Kick 2, a Telugu action film starring superstar, Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet Singh and Ravi Kishan.
