SYNOPSIS
Set in 1947, Mr. Holmes follows the story of an aged Sherlock Holmes, who has happily retired. But his past comes to haunt him, when a case involving a beautiful woman is revisited. His memory is weak but he is hell-bent on uncovering the mystery.

With the BBC series `Sherlock` and Guy Ritchie`s `Sherlock Holmes` movies already permeating the pop culture with full force at the moment, it becomes difficult to accept yet another version of the beloved character playing out in theaters. It also becomes tough to accept that Bill Condon, the guy who made the last two `Twilight` movies is directing this film. Sherlock Holmes never did wear a deerstalker hat. Not in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle`s words anyway. The deerstalker and the Calabash pipe turned up only in the imaginations of the illustrators. As many people have noted; to have worn a deerstalker around the streets of Victorian London would have been a social faux pas which would have made the wearer stick out like the proverbial.
