Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a dark crime drama from Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh. After months have passed without a culprit in her daughters murder case, Mildred Hayes makes a bold move, painting three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby, the town's revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Dixon, an immature mothers boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing's law enforcement is only exacerbated.

Verdict: A satirical masterpiece. Written and directed by Martin McDonagh, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is now set to release in India, after bagging BAFTA, Golden Globe awards and seven Oscar nominations. One may wonder why this film has gotten this much traction even without a star and after watching the film, one immediately knows why. []... ...Read full review
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is an anomaly. It shouldnt exist. There is not a single moment in its less than two-hour runtime that feels like something youve already seen, or experienced, or have had relayed to you by a pompous friend. And as the world becomes more hopeless and trips to cinema end more often in disappointment than joy, this is a sign straight from above there is magic to be found still; its out there, somewhere, waiting for you to make a mistake. ...Read full review
Writer-director Martin McDonagh has previously demonstrated his ability to bring out the humor from the most unexpected situations, and he uses this to full effect here. He directs his own original screenplay which initially appears to be a familiar setup; a mother seeking revenge for her daughters gruesome rape and murder takes on inept, corrupt cops. But, the film gingerly walks a fine line between a really dark comedy and a hard punch to the guts, playing out in extremely unpredictable ways. ...Read full review
What do you see when you see the back of a billboard? It appears bleak, devoid of colour and light, but holds also promise: the front could be bright and vivid and witty, and you won`t know what it holds till you stand on the other side. I used to work in advertising many years ago, and driving by a billboard always fills me with curiosity about what it may hold: banality or brilliance. ...Read full review

There are a number of reasons why Martin McDonagh is one of the best writer-directors out there. For one, he has a unique skill set of finding very dark humour in messed up situations and messy elements in what should be straightforward humorous situations. And as showcased earlier in In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, his flair for sardonic one liners remains intact in his fascinatingly titled new film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. ...Read full review
Frances McDormands lead character, Mildred Hayes, is the ultimate badass. No, the lady does not wear cool shades or dress in leather or even drive a mean set of wheels. Those depictions are, for the want of a better phrase, heavily clich-ridden. What makes Mildred so impressive is that she is identifiable. She is the every woman who exemplifies boundless courage, refusing to take a backward step no matter the circumstance. ...Read full review
One of the big frontrunners in this years Oscar race, anointed with as many as seven nominations, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a film unlike anything one might have seen lately.
