About the movie
Binodini (Aishwarya Rai) is married off to an old man, who dies shortly after. Left alone, she works as a maid in Rajalaxmi`s (Lily Chakravarthy) house, who lives with her son (Prasenjit) and daughter-in-law (Raima Sen). Rajalaxmi`s son had earlier refused to marry Binodini, but now gets attracted to her and things get awkward. Choker Bali in Bengali means sand in the eye, which Binodini becomes due to the situation.
