The Sexy Back hitmaker Justin Timberlake is an American singer, songwriter, actor, voice actor, record producer, and humanitarian. Despite having other hits like What Goes Around...Comes Around, Cry Me A River, and My Love, the singer is also known for his collaboration with producer Timbaland, and singer Nelly Furtado. Before starting his solo career, Timberlake was one of the two lead singers in the boy band NSYNC, which came together in 1995. Timberlake also is an actor who made his acting debut with the television variety show The Mickey Mouse Show in 1993. In 2000, he made his movie debut with the teen film Longshot, which was a promotional movie for young boy and girl bands. The singer and actor is best remembered for being a part of movies such as The Social Network, Friends with Benefits, and Runner Runner.

The singer is also actively involved with social and humanitarian work. Although he initially only worked toward providing aid for educational purposes in the field of music, he now works towards other causes such environment, wildlife, children, education, relief, and health. The nine-time Grammy Award-winner also owns a record company with the name Tennman Records along with a clothing line William Rast.

Early Life
Son of Baptist church choir director Randall Timberlake and his wife Lynn Harless, who worked at as an operator at the entertainment company Just-In-Time Entertainment, Justin Randall Timberlake was born on the 31st of January, 1981 in Memphis, USA. His parents divorced in 1985 to only remarry. However, the two later divorced again with his father marrying Lisa Perry and his mother marrying Paul Harless, a banker. Timberlake has two half-brothers and a half-sister from his father`s second marriage. However, his half-sister, Laura Katherine, passed away soon after her birth, which deeply affected Timberlake. Growing up in Shelby Forest, a middle-class suburb near Memphis, Timberlake attended the E E Jeter Elementary School. He, however, never attended college, which is something that he regrets.

Personal Life
When Timberlake was only of sixteen years of age, he briefly dated the then 23-year-old Fergie. Following which he was in a long-term relationship with his The Mickey Mouse Show co-star Britney Spears. The teen pop stars dated for roughly three years between 1999 and 2002, before they split after Spears allegedly cheated on Timberlake, which inspired his song Cry Me A River. While on a rebound mode after his messy breakup with Spears, he reportedly dated Channing Tatum`s now-wife Jenna Dewan, who was a backup with NSYNC then, and also dated actress Alyssa Milano, who is eight years his senior, in 2002.

The following year, he began dating the Charlie`s Angels actor Cameron Diaz. The two dated for over three years before calling it quits in 2006. Despite the breakup, the two continue to remain good friends. Shortly after splitting with Diaz, he began dating American actress Jessica Biel in 2007. The couple, however, tried to keep their relationship under wraps and only came out openly in 2008. After dating for over four years, the couple split in 2011, only to reconcile within three months. The following year, in 2012, the couple was engaged and they got married in 2012. The two have a son, Silas, who was born in the April in 2015.

Television Career
At the age of twelve, Timberlake was seen in the American variety show The Mickey Mouse Club, which featured other future artists such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, JC Chasez, and Keri Russell. In 1999, he was seen, playing the role of a street performer, in one of the episodes of the American supernatural drama series Touched by an Angel. The following year, he was seen in the Disney TV movie Model Behavior co-starring Maggie Lawson. He has also voiced for his character in the American animated sitcom The Simpsons in 2001, and of Paul/Rallo`s Booger in The Cleveland Show in 2011.

Music Career
In 1995, Timberlake got together with JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass to form the American boy band NSYNC. The band initially only released singles under a self-titled album. Some of their initial hits include I Want You Back, Tearin` Up My Heart, and Here We Go. The band then dropped their second album in 2000, which went on to sell 9.9 million copies by the end of the year, making it the best-selling record of the decade and of 2000. The It`s Gonna Be Me hitmakers then released their third album Celebrity in 2001, which marked the band`s last album together. Despite their success, the band split, with the members pursuing their solo careers.

Following the split of NSYNC, Timberlake went on to pursue his solo career and released his first studio album, Justified, in 2002. His first album included the song Cry Me A River, which was allegedly about his breakup with Spears. The four-time Emmy winner collaborated with various other artists and groups for their singles such as The Lonely Island, Snoop Dogg, and The Black Eyed Peas. However, his most prominent collaboration has been with music producer Timbaland, whom he collaborated with on his first album in 2002. Together, the two released songs such as Cry Me A River, My Love, SexyBack, What Goes Around_ Comes Around, Give It To Me, and Carry Out among many other hits.

The Mirrors singer released three other albums as of 2016: FutureSex/LoveSounds, The 20/20 Experience, and The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2. In 2016, Timberlake primarily produced the official soundtrack of the movie Trolls, for which he also voiced the character of Branch. The hit songwriter and singer has won as many as nine Grammy Awards, four Emmy Awards, seven American Music Awards, three Brit Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, 11 MTV Video Music Awards, and 27 ASCAP Awards as of 2016, and also received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2014 for Mirror.

Movie Career
Starting his acting career on television, Timberlake was soon seen in the 2001 teen film Longshot, which was used as a tool to promote the young and budding artists, and girl and boy bands. Since Timberlake was seen part of the boyband NSYNC, he was cast in the movie along with his band mates. He was then cast alongside Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J, and Kevin Spacey in the 2005 thriller Edison, which opened to negative reviews. The following year, he was seen in the crime drama Alpha Dogs, which first screened at the Sundance Film Festival and opened to positive reviews.

He then voiced the character of Arthur Pendragon in the animated comedy-fantasy film Shrek the Third in 2007. In 2010, he was cast in the drama film The Social Network, based on the life of Facebook`s founder Mark Zuckerberg, where he played the role of Napster`s founder Sean Parker, who plays an instrumental role in the expansion of the social platform.

The following year, the actor paired with his former girlfriend Cameron Diaz in the comedy Bad Teacher also starring Jason Segal. The movie went on to become a commercial success with Timberlake`s performance winning the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor - Comedy. In 2011, he was cast opposite the Black Swan actor Mila Kunis in the American romantic comedy Friends with Benefits, which is of two friends who casually begin having sex, only to fall in love with each other.

Despite his next, Runner Runner, being bashed by the critics, the movie went on to become a commercial success in 2013. The action thriller saw Justin Timberlake cast alongside Ben Affleck, Gemma Arterton, and Anthony Mackie. The same the year, Timberlake was seen in the dark comedy Inside Llewyn Lewis. The movie opened to positive reviews and was declared a hit. In 2016, Timberlake voiced the character of Branch in the animated musical buddy comedy film Trolls, which also stars Anna Kendrick, Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden, and Gwen Stefani. His other projects include Wonder Wheel (2017), Trolls World Tour (2020) and Palmer (2021).
