Known for his role as The George Oscar Bluth II in the Fox series Arrested Development, Will Arnett, is a Canadian-American actor, voice actor and comedian. His notable movie appearances include Monster-in- Law (2005), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016), and Monsters vs. Aliens (2009).

Early life
Son of Edith Alexandra and Emerson James Arnett, a corporate lawyer, and brewer respectively, Will Arnett was born in Toronto, Ontario. He has two older sisters and one younger brother. Arnett attended Lakefield College School in Lakefield, Ontario, and then continued theatre classes at the Tarragon Theatre. He pursued his graduation from Leaside High School and then attended Concordia University in Montreal for one semester, later shifting to New York City in 1990 to pursue a course in acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Personal life
Arnett tied the knot with actress Penelope Ann Miller in 1994, but their marriage was short- lived as they divorced in 1995. The actor then married his Arrested Development co-star Amy Poehler in 2003. She also appeared with him in films like Blades of Glory (2007), On Broadway (2007) and Monsters vs. Aliens (2009). The couple has two sons - Archie and Abel. Even this marriage didn’t last long for the actor, as he separated from Poehler in 2012, and got divorced in 2016.

Movie career
Arnett started his movie career with the 1996 crime drama Close Up and the romantic comedy Ed's Next Move. After two years, he was seen in The Broken Giant alongside John Glover and Brooke Smith, followed by a lead role in The Waiting Game (1999). The actor has done a lot of voice over projects in his career, his first one being as a narrator for the 2001 film Series 7: The Contenders. During this phase in his career, he struggled to get roles in the film and television industry, until his breakthrough in the television series Arrested Development. Four years after Series 7: The Contenders, he bagged a supporting role in the Australian-American comedy Monster-in- Law (2005) starring Jane Fonda, Jennifer Lopez, and Michael Vartan in lead roles. He then voiced for the character of The Lone Gunslinger in the highly successful animated adventure film Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006). The actor was seen in several movies in 2006 like The Great New Wonderful, RV, Let's Go to Prison, but all of them received average reviews.

In the next year, he majorly featured in supporting roles in movies like Blades of Glory, and Hot Rod, till he bagged a lead role in The Brothers Solomon opposite Will Forte. Arnett and Forte play two brothers who try to please their father but are faced with numerous challenges. This comedy film failed to succeed and received negative reviews. Arnett was then part of the voice over cast of the popular animated film Monsters vs. Aliens (2009), in which he voiced  one of the monsters The Missing Link. In 2010, he played the role of a painter Antonio in Mark Steven Johnson's romantic comedy When in Rome, but this movie too garnered negative reviews from critics.

Arnett then featured as a voice actor in several popular movies like Despicable Me (2010) for Mr. Perkins, The Secret World of Arrietty (2010), The Nut Job (2014) and The Lego Movie for Batman (2014). In 2014, he was cast in the action adventure film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the role of Vern Fenwick, opposite Megan Fox, William Fichtner. and Minae Noji. The movie exceeded box office expectations and garnered positive reviews from critics. Arnett was also nominated as the Favorite Movie Actor at the 28th Kids' Choice Awards. He was even cast in its sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016), the sixth film of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series. He reprised his role of Vern Fenwick once again starring opposite Megan Fox. This movie enjoyed a decent run at the box office and received mixed reviews. Arnett then played a supporting role in the 2016 mockumentary comedy film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, starring Andy Samberg in the lead. He voiced the lead character Bruce Wayne / Batman in the 2017 3D computer-animated superhero film The Lego Batman Movie, under the direction of Chris McKay.

He has been the voice actor for video games like Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, Monsters vs. Aliens, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, The LEGO Movie Videogame and Lego Dimensions.

Television Career
Three years after his movie debut, the actor ventured into the television industry with Sex and the City in 1999. In the same year, he bagged another TV series, The Mike O'Malley Show, in which he featured for 13 episodes. After single episode appearances in Third Watch, Boston Public and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, he was seen in a television film Undefeated. Then came his television breakthrough with Arrested Development in the role of George Oscar "G.O.B." Bluth II, which gained him huge popularity. Even though the show gained critical praises for being one of the greatest comedies of all time, it could draw only a limited audience. Not only did the show win many awards, but Arnett too was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at Primetime Emmy Award (2006).

The actor went on to feature in voice roles in Danny Phantom, Freak Show, and King of the Hill, before he got another significant television project, 30 Rock. In the series, he played the role of Devon Banks. This American satirical television sitcom that aired on NBC, generated good viewership and received positive reviews from critics. It also garnered major awards like Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2007, 2008, and 2009 along with various nominations. 30 Rock also turned out to be one of Arnett's best performances that got him nominated several times for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. He then had a voice role in Sit Down, Shut Up, where he voiced Ennis Hofftard. Subsequently, he was part of the main cast of Running Wilde in the role of a self-centered billionaire alongside Keri Russell and Robert Michael Morris. He was then cast in the black comedy television series The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret opposite David Cross, Sharon Horgan, and Blake Harrison. He bagged a recurring role in Up All Night in the role of Chris (Details).
