About
Best known to play the roles of `Gisele Yashar` in the Fast & Furious film series and the superhero character, `Wonder Woman,` Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress and model who works in Hollywood films. Before venturing into films, the actress was a popular model and participated in various beauty pageants. After winning the Miss Israeli pageant, she represented Israel at the Miss World beauty contest. Some of her most popular films include Fast & Furious (2009), Fast & Furious 6 (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Wonder Woman (2017), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) and Zack Snyder`s Justice League (2021).

Early Life
Born in Rosh HaAyin, Israel, Gadot is the daughter of Irit Weiss and Micahel Gadot. The actress` mother worked as a teacher, whilst her father was an engineer. The actress, who has a Polish-Jewish, Austrian-Jewish, and Czech-Jewish lineage, hails from a family where her grandparents were Holocaust survivors. Gadot`s parents Hebraized their surname from Greenstein to Gadot.

The actress completed her high school with a major in biology and later she studied law at The Reichman. While she was at school, owing to her tall frame, she played on the school basketball team. When she was 18, the beautiful actress aspired to be a fashion model and she participated in several beauty pageants. In 2004, Gadot won the Miss Israel competition and she later, in the year, competed in the Miss Universe pageant in Ecuador.

After her tryst with modeling, when she turned 20, she joined the Israeli Army as it is mandatory to serve in the military for every Israeli citizen. The actress served in the army for two years as an enlisted soldier and she excelled through the three-month grueling boot camp. Speaking of her time in the army, Gadot said, "You give two or three years, and it is not about you. You give your freedom away for a while. You learn discipline and respect. The things I have been through as a soldier prepared me to deal with career things as well."

After completing her military services, the actress went to study law but she dropped out of college in the first year as a casting director called her to audition for the role Bond girl, Camile Montes in the Quantum of Solace. However, the actress lost the role to Olga Kurylenko and the same casting director later hired Gadot to play the role of Gisele in Fast & Furious.

Personal Life
In September 2008, Gal Gadot married Yaron Varsano, an Israeli real estate developer. The couple has a daughter named Alma, who was born in 2011. On November 6, 2016, Gadot announced that she is expecting their second child.

Movie Career
After failing to get a role in the bond film, Quantum of Solace, the actress made her debut in 2009 with the American action film, Fast & Furious. The film directed by Justin Lin was the fourth installment in The Fast and the Furious film series. The film featuring an ensemble cast, including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez, received mostly negative reviews from the critics, but turned out to be a commercial hit; it grossed 363 million USD worldwide.

In her first release of 2010, the actress appeared in a small role in the American comedy film, Date Night directed by Shawn Levy. The film starring Steve Carell, Tina Fey, and Mark Wahlberg got mixed to positive reviews from the critics with Roger Ebert stating, "if you don`t start out liking the Fosters and hoping they have a really nice date night, not much else is going to work." The film grossed 27.1 million USD in its opening weekend and went on to win the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie - Comedy. Her other film of the year was the American action film, Knight and Day where she played a small role of Naomi, a henchwoman of an arms dealer. The film was later officially remade in Bollywood as Bang Bang! with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.

After appearing in smaller roles in both her films in 2010, the actress reprised the role of Gisele in the fifth installment of the Fast & Furious series titled Fast Five. The film included the original cast of the series apart from Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Bridges, Sung Kang and Matt Schulze. The film received wide positive reviews from the critics and emerged to be one of the highest-grossing films of that year. Two years later, the actress featured in Fast & Furious 6 directed by Justin Lin. The film received positive reviews from the critics and grossed 788 million USD worldwide.

In her solitary release of 2014, Gadot made her debut in an Israeli film titled Kicking Out Shoshana, which was directed by Shay Kanot. The film featuring Oshri Cohen, Mariano Idelman and Eli Finish in the lead roles was based on the life of an Israeli professional football player who is forced by a mafia boss to pretend to be a homosexual. The film received positive critical reviews and was an average earner at the box office.

The film featuring an ensemble cast including Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Aaron Paul, Clifton Collins, Jr., Kate Winslet and Teresa Palmer got mixed reviews.
