Gul Panag is an Indian actress who is popularly known for her portrayal of the character Zeenat in the film Dor. She received critical acclaim for her performance in the film and was awarded Zee Critics Award for Best Actor and Stardust Award for Breathtaking Performances.Her other known films include Dhoop (2003), Manorama Six Feet Under (2007), and Ab Tak Chhappan 2 (2014). In 1999, Gul Panag was crown Miss India and represented the country at Miss Universe, where she finished in the Top 10

Early Life
Gul was born in Chandigarh to Lt. Gen. Panag. Gul`s father was in the army so her family kept relocating to different places due to which she had to change her school frequently and as a result, the actress studied in fourteen different educational establishments.

She completed her BSC in Mathematics from Punjabi University, Patiala and later on completed her Post Graduation in Political Science from Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Personal Life
On 13th March 2011, the actress married her long-time boyfriend Rishi Attari in a traditional Sikh ceremony at a Gurudwara, in Chandigarh.

Movie Career
Gul started her career in 2003 with Ashwini Chaudhary`s war drama Dhoop, where she essayed the role of Capt Rohit Kapoor`s fiance. But in spite of being a critically acclaimed film, Dhoop failed to generate revenue at the box office. Subsequently, the actress was seen in Vikram Bhatt`s mystery thriller Jurm (2005), starring Bobby Deol, Milind Soman, and Lara Dutta. Then, she was seen in Nagesh Kukunoor`s Dor. Gul depicted the role of Zeenat in the film who is on a journey to get her husband out of the murder trial he is facing. The film also stars Ayesha Takia and Shreyas Talpade in the lead roles and was a breakthrough in Gul`s career as she nationwide received critical acclaim for her performance.

In 2007, the actress was seen in Navdeep Singh`s Manorama Six Feet Under starring Abhay Deol and Raima Sen. The movie was a box office flop but was appreciated by the critics. The following year, Gul was seen in Summer 2007 wherein she depicted the role of a medical student. The plot revolved around five medical students who visit a village in Maharashtra to work as medical interns. The same year the actress was seen in Atul Agnihotri`s Hello which is based on Chetan Bhagat`s novel One Night @ the Call Center. The film had an average run at the box office and generated revenue worth _165 million.

She was then seen in Ram Gopal Varma`s Rann co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Sudeep and Ritesh Deshmukh. Despite a strong star cast, the failed, both critically and commercially. Following this, Gul Panag appeared in Prakash Jha`s Turning 30 and Rajat Kapoor`s Fatso, which co-starred Ranvir Shorey, Purab Kohli, Neil Bhoopalam and Gunjan Bakshi.

In 2015, Gul essayed the role of a crime reported in Aejaz Gulab`s Ab Tak Chhappan 2.The film starred Nana Patekar and Ashutosh Rana in the lead roles and generated revenue worth _6.64 Crores. Her 2016 release was Mandeep Kumar`s Ambarsariya starring Diljit Dosanjh, Monica Gill, Navneet Kaur Dhillon and Lauren Gottlieb. Gul Panag received rave reviews for portraying the role Geet Sandhu, an officer from the RAW Intelligence Department.

Television Career
Gul started her television career in 2003 with Kashmir which was aired on Star Plus. The actress played a pivotal role in the series, based on the beautiful backdrop of Kashmir and how militant factors disrupted the life of people living there. Gul was next seen in Khoobsurat as a television presenter wherein she would give the viewers an update on the latest fashion trends. The actress also hosted shows like Kisme Kitna Hai Dam, Musafir Hoon Yaaron and Kingfisher Blue Mile - Mission Mount Everest, in which a team of mountaineers treks to Mount Everest. Gul was seen in a travel show called Off Road with Gul Panag: Ladakh wherein the actress will travel from Chandigarh to Ladakh with her friend Swati. Her 2019 release includes Bypass Road, directed by Naman Nitin Mukesh.
