Anita Hassanandani Reddy is an Indian actress and model, who has acted in serials and films of different languages. Her popular television roles are as Anjali in Kkavyanjali and Shagun in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, and her notable movies include Ragini MMS 2, Dus Kahaniyaan, and Krishna Cottage.

Personal life
Anita Hassanandani got engaged to Eijaz Khan in 2009 but broke off the engagement at the end of 2009. She then dated businessman Rohit Reddy for two and half years before getting married in Goa on 14 October 2013.

Early Life
Anita was born in Mumbai. Her father was a businessman and her mother was a housewife. She began her career as a model and appeared in many TV commercials before venturing into the big screen.

Movie career
Anita's first lead role in the film industry came with the Bollywood movie Kucch To Hai in 2003 directed by Anurag Basu and Anil V. Kumar, co-starring Tusshar Kapoor, Esha Deol, Yash Tonk, and Rishi Kapoor. In the film, Karan (Tusshar Kapoor) plays the love interest of Natasha (Anita Hassanandani). Her next release was Yeh Dil again starring opposite Tusshar Kapoor, in which she portrayed the role of Vasundhara Yadav, the daughter of a middle-class wrestler. The actress made her Telugu film debut too in the same year with director Konda's Ninne Ishtapaddanu alongside Tarun, and Sridevi. She followed this up with another Telugu romance film Aadanthe Ado Type, directed by E V V Satyanarayana, opposite Sivaji and Aryan Rajesh.

In 2004, Anita featured in the Hindi supernatural thriller Krishna Cottage, the story of a group of collegians who take shelter in the Krishna cottage, unaware that it is haunted. This horror film directed by Santram Varma starred Anita along with Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar in lead roles. The actress was then seen in a special appearance in a Telugu film Nenunnanu directed by V. N. Aditya with a cast of stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shriya Saran.

Sukran, a 2005 Tamil film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar, saw Anita in a lead role alongside Ravi Krishna, in which actor Vijay played a guest role. She portrayed the role of Sandhya, a college student in Tamil Nadu who is in love with Ravi (Ravi Krishna), but her stepmother tries everything possible to stop their union. Her next release of the year was the Hindi romance film Silsiilay, in which she starred as part of an ensemble cast including Tabu, Bhoomika Chawla, Celina Jaitley, Rahul Bose, Jimmy Shergill, and Kay Kay Menon. She had a pivotal role in Partho Mitra's Koi Aap Sa, the story of two best friends who are in love with different people, but circumstances force them to marry each other. Subsequent to this, Anita was seen in a supporting role in Just Married: Marriage Was Only the Beginning!. Then came Dus Kahaniyaan, an anthology, in which Anita had a significant part in one of the ten short films. This followed with Tarique Khan's black comedy Ek Se Bure Do, in which she was part of the lead cast alongside Arshad Warsi, and Rajpal Yadav. She featured alongside Nassar, Sathya and Anjali in the 2011 Tamil film Maharaja, the story of a middle-aged family man who tries to change his way of living to break his monotonous boring life.

Anita then appeared in the commercially successful film Ragini MMS 2 (2014) as Gina. This Bhushan Patel's erotic-horror movie co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor featured Sunny Leone and Saahil Prem in the lead, and Anita in a supporting role. In the same year, she also featured in the Punjabi action comedy film Yaaran Da Katchup directed by Abhay Baiju Chabbra co-starring Jaswinder Bhalla, Hardy Sandhu, and Yuvika Chaudhary. The actress was cast in a supporting role in the 2015 romantic Hindi film Hero directed by Nikhil Advani with Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in the leading roles. Her 2016 release includes the Telugu film Manalo Okkadu.

Television career
After establishing herself as a successful model, Anita Hassanandani made her television debut with the soap opera Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii produced by Ekta Kapoor. The show centers on the bond of two best friends, one of which was played by Anita. She took a huge leap after this as she was cast in a lead role in the television show Kkavyanjali that aired on STAR Plus. She played the protagonist Anjali in this romantic drama series, based on the story of two lovers who can never get together. In the show, she co-starred with Eijaz Khan, Iqbal Khan, Amrita Singh, and Sushmita Mukherjee. Her performance in this show won the actress Indian Television Academy Awards Best Actress - Jury, and Star Parivaar Awards Favourite Yogya Jodi, both in 2005. In the following year too, she won the Indian Telly Awards Best Actress in a Lead Role, and Star Parivaar Awards Favourite Hottest Jodi for the same show.

Her next television appearance was in 2012 with Lakhon Mein Ek, a Star Plus program that depicted real-life stories. In the consecutive year, the actress was cast in Ye Hai Mohabbatein as Shagun Abhimanyu Raghav - the main antagonist of the plot. Her impressive negative role in this serial won her Best Actress in Negative Role (Popular) at Zee Gold Awards (2014 & 2015), Best Actress in a Negative Role - Drama at Indian Television Academy Awards (2015), Most Stylish Vamp at Television Style Awards (TSA)(2015), and Most Stylish Sadasya at Star Parivaar Awards (2016). Yeh Hai Aashiqui was her next television project in which she portrayed the role of a woman trapped in an abusive marriage, Priyanka, and is liked by a young photographer student Tushar (Yuvraj Thakur) who tries to rescue her from her husband even though the society is against him. Anita's consecutive television role was in the thriller miniseries MTV Fanaah - An Impossible Love Story as Preet, cast alongside Karan Kundra, Chetna Pande, Ayaz Ahmed, and Yuvraj Thakur. Along with all of this, she was a wild card entry in season 8 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
